Wrist straps and ESD footwear are the first line of defense against electrostatic charge build-up on the human body. The wrist strap and footwear resistance should be within certain limits to ensure personnel safety and product protection.
This combination Wriststrap & DUAL Footwear tester checks these parameters under real-time operating conditions. The footwear section provides a clear warning if either footwear is defective, allowing immediate corrective action.
Note: The system is designed to check only ESD footwear and may give inconsistent results with regular (non-ESD) footwear.
Door Access System
Before entering the EPA (ESD Protected Area) personnel are required to test their wrist strap and ESD footwear. Access into the EPA is granted by releasing the electromagnetic lock only when the measured resistance of the wrist strap and/or footwear falls within the defined pass limits.
